Louisville, KY – The Louisville Bats will open their 2012 season at Louisville Slugger Field on Friday, April 13 versus the Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35.
The Bats will again play 72 home games at Louisville Slugger Field in 2012. The Bats have twelve Saturday home games scheduled, including Thunder Over Louisville on April 21. Louisville also has home games on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 13 vs. Lehigh Valley), Memorial Day (Monday, May 28 vs. Syracuse), Father’s Day (Sunday, June 17 vs. Rochester), a Fourth of July Fireworks Show (Tuesday, July 3 vs. Indianapolis), and Labor Day (Monday, September 3 vs. Indianapolis).
Throughout the summer, the Bats will continue to host Budweiser Game Time Happy Hours on Thursday nights and post-game fireworks will highlight Friday nights. Saturdays will feature the best promotional acts from across the country and Sundays will again be highlighted by Kids Run the Bases along with the Kids Inflatable FunZone.

The 2012 season marks both the 13th year as the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds and at Louisville Slugger Field.
In 2011, the Louisville Bats finished second in all of Minor League Baseball with 8,716 fans per game. With over 600,000 total fans in 2011, the Bats join the Sacramento RiverCats as the only Triple-A franchises to draw at least 600,000 fans every season since 2000.
