Neftali Soto is congratulated by teammates after hitting a solo home run on May 27 against the Indianapolis Indians at Louisville Slugger Field

John Wagner over at MiLB.com takes a look at Bats first baseman Neftali Soto and explains that there is nothing to worry about following the prospect’s slow start.

[Bats manager David] Bell said Soto seems to be following a track similar to the one he experienced last season in Carolina.

“He’s a young player and young players just play better as they gain experience,” Bell said. “Once he got some at-bats last year, he gained experience and played better. The more you play, the better you get.”

Though the team is currently awaiting his return from the disabled list with a back injury, Soto’s eight home runs, 31 RBI, 58 hits and 93 total bases are still best on the team.
